A bit sad that the first great deviation I make in a while is under circumstances.

So here's the deal, tommarow's the last day before Christmas break so I drew this for a girl I like. I didn't get to start it until like, 7:00 PM so it took me about 3 hours.

Anyway, that's about it. I really like this, and obviously I hope she does too, but just so I don't get uberly killed and stuff, I used a tutorial for this.

Man, I love that place. Fantastic tutorials, and as you can see, they really work.

Still a little strange how my original artistic style, anime/manga, is my worst, while realism and acrylic paints which I just began using this year are my best. Go figure.

By the way, emotions are usually the inspirations for our work. I usually draw when I'm bored or sad. Never when I'm happy or content. Maybe your focus is subconciously changing, or you were destined for more traditional artforms. Either way, you're improving and growing no matter what. I hope that the person you like sees this; it would be a shame for her to miss out on it.

Yeah... This was my first time using hatching and crosshatching. I think I did pretty well. I'm also suprised by all of the feedback I got on this...
